ISN Psychology College – Library

After installing ISN’s Lecture room A/V system, ISN Psychology College asked KSDesigns to create and install a simple Audio / Video system for their new Library. The final specifications was a simple 2 channel / 1080p A/V system with a ‘twist’.

The ‘twist’ was installing the projector in the ceiling space of an adjacent room to the library where the wall facing the projector screen was not parallel but angled away from parallel at approximately 42 degrees.  We did quite a few calculations and measurements before creating a platform and wall cutout for the projector. Switching on the projector for the first time, the projected image was not only square but also focused. KSDesigns had delivered another project on time, on budget, and to specification.

The system consists of an Audac power amplifier with DSP and digital amplification for the two main audio channels, with volume controlled directly from the source(laptop).

Audio reproduction is handled by Void speakers creating a robust and clear sound across the library.

A system that couldn’t be any simpler while still producing clarity and transparency for the audience.

A Vivitek 1080p large venue laser projector is mounted in the ceiling space on a customised platform box. The projector is approximately 9.5m from the screen and the video image is 148inches(diagonal) in size and produces very high quality video images.

There is no physical screen used and ‘screen paint’ is used in lieu to simplify the installation while still providing the required video performance.

Gefen equipment is utilised for HDBaseT video transmission to preserve the video signal.

Keeping quiet in this library when the projector is on could be a challenge!
